Escaped Memories & Unwanted Choice

Escaped Memories
He stood stiffly, eyes straight ahead, avoiding the gaze of the man sitting behind the huge oak desk. He didn’t want to look into those blue eyes, that flickered with a strange intensity that he didn’t understand anymore.
He didn’t want to let those memories he had struggled so painfully to lock away to resurface. Nevertheless, facing him, the memories escaped, and he remembered.
Aya-kun…Aya…
A soft murmur, a tender kiss. A gentle smile, a sparkle in the familiar eyes. Innocent love.
Omi…
But Omi was no more. Omi ceased to exist. Omi was…dead.
“Persia.” He said, his voice flat.

Unwanted Choice
If he had a choice, he would not have chosen this. He didn’t want to sit and delegate duties. He didn’t want to sit aside and watch, he wanted to be with them, the risk, the danger, everything.
He didn’t want to be a Takatori, but life did not permit him any choices.
The choice he made meant the death of a love.
Death of a man.
He felt the familiar stab of pain as he looked into glazed violet eyes.
“Abyssinian.” He said, his voice echoing the coldness of the other man.
What he wouldn’t give for one smile.
