Rose & Freesia is a semi-open archive. That means that we do accept submissions, but we reserve the right to ultimately refuse a story at our discretion. We’re not going to require you have a beta reader, but we strongly suggest allowing someone else to at least read over your story for grammar and spelling advice. We all make mistakes, and we’ll allow you a few in any submission, but if your post is riddled with errors we really don’t have the time to beta it for you. Also, read carefully through the guidelines below before sending us your story. If you choose to ignore them don’t be terribly surprised if your work does not appear on the page.
This archive is our personal project. We are investing a lot of time in it and we have a personal stake in seeing it succeed. Putting up your story is as good as endorsing it, therefore we reserve the right to be choosy (read: picky as hell) about what we slap our names onto. If that doesn't scare you off however, we really do want submissions (Really, really…) and are not above begging where necessary.

Rules and Such
HEADERS/LABELING:
Headers MUST accompany every chapter of a submitted fan fiction and include the following:
Title & Part Number
Author
Email Address
Crossover (optional)
Content/Rating (Important!)
Summary
Spoiler Warning (optional)
Distribution (optional – where else to find your fic)
Author's Note (not required)
If your fic is rated NC-17 it needs to be listed, along with content. (Why it rates an NC-17) For the sake of consistency, NC-17 fiction contains graphic sex, violence or language.
NCS fics (containing nonconsensual sex) must be clearly labeled. If you fail to label one fic, we’ll do it for you and send you a warning. If you continue to submit without proper warnings, we will not only refuse to post the story in question, we will remove your section from the archive. This is not us being mean here, people, we need to make sure the archive is covered and mislabeled pr0n is the fastest way to a whole hoard of parental units breathing down our necks.
Besides, this is supposed to be fun. We don’t want to scar any small children.
The Pieces Parts

The Subject Line of your Message should include the following:

*WRITING AN INTRODUCTION
SPOILER WARNING: While it is a nice assumption to think that everyone is on the same page as you and has seen all the episodes of a show or read every issue of a manga that you have, this is not necessarily true. As a courtesy to those who may not have seen/read all the arcs you are writing for, and as a courtesy to any international readers who might be behind on more current storylines, please include a spoiler warning. Some people do not like knowing what is going to happen with their favorite shows/manga and their favorite characters *before* it happens.
RATING: Although this site is completely open to *all* forms
of fan fiction, it is important that you include a rating for your work. This helps prepare the reader for what is coming, and helps archivists when the time comes to archive your fiction. The community tends to use the American MPAA rating system for movies:
G - appropriate for all ages.
PG - nothing graphic, but not appropriate for young readers.
R - contains sex, violence or language and is not appropriate for anyone under legal age.
NC-17 - contains *graphic* sex, violence or language and is not appropriate for anyone under legal age and some adults.
CONTENT WARNINGS: Please try to note in the introduction if your story is ADULT, NCS, BSDM, includes a romance between two characters (and please note which characters), if a main character dies, religious issues, etc. While some readers enjoy these kinds of stories, others might want to avoid them.
SUMMARY: It is important that you include a short summary of your fanfic (no more than one or two sentences). This is just to give the reader an idea of what to expect. Think of it like the tag line for a movie, or the jacket of a book.

RATING: NC-17
WARNINGS: Where do I begin? First off, this thing rightly earns an NC-17 rating for a massive lemon. I pull no punches here--this isn't coy citrus, it's fairly graphic, not to mention LONG. So if you're underage and you know it, avoid it. I'll not be responsible if you manage to scar yourself.
SUMMARY: The mission had been perfect, flawless in plan but the execution had been one disaster after another.

1. If you are emailing us privately and want to include a link to your website to include on your author section at Rose and Freesia, please send us the URL along with the story.
2. Just for future reference, we don’t require a disclaimer not because we’re jonesing for a law suit, but because there’s a generic disclaimer built into the major pages of the site, and while it might be entertaining to see how creative you all can get with new ones, it’s ultimately pointless.
